You feel like you’re on a treadmill, trying so hard but getting nowhere. Your relationships aren’t what you want from them. Maybe you don’t have enough energy to do things and rest isn’t restful. Or maybe it’s just that you’re not making progress on meaningful things and instead seem caught up in surviving day-to-day. 


You’ve tried solutions already. You’ve probably started a really structured solution, and while it’s successful in some ways, it’s not completely successful. You’ve probably been relying on emotional-based motivation that isn’t reflective of reality. You’ve tried harder, you’ve even tried working smarter, not harder. But what if the problem isn’t the problem, and the solutions are ineffective because they’re solving the wrong problem? 


It’s not all about willpower. You need a greater support system and committed time for yourself and reflection. It’s invaluable to have a safe space to talk about things and get them off your chest. Furthermore, as a therapist I provide resources for learning and developing mindfulness skills. These types of skills are powerful in the moment and we can translate your experience into longitudinal changes for your life. Changing the wiring in the brain changes the choices we’re able to make and that gives you power. 


We’ll work on understanding emotions and the set of emotional myths that are unique to you. Emotional myths are the thoughts or beliefs that are keeping us stuck. The first step is to become aware of them, and then we build the ability to observe the reality. In this way we’re able to gain a more nuanced understanding of cause and effect. This leads to those subtle things that keep us stuck.


Through this work, my intent is that you’re able to create a greater sense of ease in your life and find more meaning.
